According to the provisional data of Türkiye Elektrik İletim A.Ş. (TEİAŞ), power consumption in Turkey in June 2020 was 27,241,059 kWh with an approximately 0.5-percent decline compared to the same month of the previous year. 

According to a survey conducted by TEBA, Turkey exported 139,504 kWh and imported 172,025 kWh of power in June. 

Hydroelectric power plants account for the largest share in power generation:

Power generation in June reached 27,208,539 MWh with a 0.6-percent decrease. Of the total monthly generation of power, free generation companies accounted for 78.1 percent with 21,272,322.01 MWh, EÜAŞ accounted for 18.9 percent with 5,154,699.55 MWh, Transfer of Operating Rights (TOR) plants accounted for 2.6 percent with 714,001.04 MWh, and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) plants accounted for 0.25 percent with 67,516.10 MWh.

Resource distribution of the monthly production reveals that hydroelectric sources have the highest share with 25.3 percent, which is followed by natural gas power plants with 23.81 percent. Having entered a trend of decline last year but then bounced back, natural gas power plants surpassed import coal power plants after a long time.
