Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF) Will Be Held on October 1-3 in İstanbul

Themes of environment and climate change, urban technologies and innovation, transportation and mobility, urban infrastructure, housing, and built environment, migration, city networks, local development, social inclusion, resilience, public space, governance will be covered in the Forum organized by Marmara Municipalities Union and sponsored by IFAT Eurasia and Turksat and whose partners are Metropolitan Municipalities of İstanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Balıkesir,Tekirdağ and Edirne.

Marmara Municipalities Union will organize its first Marmara International Urban Forum (MARUF) on October 1-3, 2019 at Istanbul Congress Center.

MARUF will be sponsored by IFAT Eurasia and Turksat. Partners are; Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mediterranean Municipalities Union, Çukurova Municipalities Union, İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality, Edirne Metropolitan Municipality, Bağcılar, Çorlu, Büyükçekmece Municipalities and İstanbul Development Agency, 
South Marmara Development Agency, East Marmara Development Agency, Trakya Development Agency, JICA, UNDP, Swedish, Danish and Netherlands Embassies and İKSV.

MARUF will gather professionals from national, regional and local governments, private sector, NGOs, universities, and other stakeholders with the aim of sharing knowledge, experience and creating new opportunities. Guided by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, different approaches to urban services and urban management will be discussed in the forum. MARUF aims to find alternative ways of discussing urban issues to contribute to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda.
