Important Appointments in MENR
Alparslan Bayraktar is appointed Deputy Undersecretary after holding the office by proxy for some time; and Safa Uslu is appointed the General Director of Foreign Affairs and European Union after holding the office as Deputy General Director in the same unit
Some important appointments in the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR) were published in the Official Gazette on January 26, 2017. Alparslan Bayraktar, who had been as the deputy undersecretary in proxy for some time is appointed principal deputy director. Safa Uslu is appointed to the post of General Directorate of Foreign Relations and European Union vacated by Alparslan Bayraktar. Uslu was the Deputy General Director in the same unit. Who is Alparslan Bayraktar? Alparslan Bayraktar was born in Kırıkhan, Hatay in 1975. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1995. He received a graduate degree in Strategic Marketing Management from New York University, and a Master of Law in Economic Law from Bilkent University Faculty of Law. He has been the chairman of the 24-member Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), an organization since August 2013. He became the chairman of International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER) in 2015. Bayraktar has been an EMRA Board Member for six years.
