The Annual Inflation Rate Realized as 16.65 Percent in July

Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) disclosed the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Domestic Producer Price Index (DPPI) data for the month of July. According to provided data, CPI displayed an increase of 1.36 % in July 2019 compared to the previous month, an increase of 6.44 % compared to December last year, an increase of 16.65 % in comparison with the same month of the previous year and an increase of 19.91 % according to the 12-month averages. The highest monthly increase within the main expenditure groups occurred in the transportation group at a rate of 4.46 %. An increase of 4.24 % realized in household goods, 3.10 % in housing, 1.60 % in entertainment and culture and 1.42 % in restaurants and hotels. The highest monthly decline within the main expenditure groups occurred in the shoes and wearing apparel group at a rate of 3.20 %. Another group that displayed a decline in the index is recorded as the food and non-alcoholic beverages group at a rate of 1.11 %. The highest annual increase realized in the miscellaneous commodities and services group at a rate of 26.93 %. Other main expenditure groups that displayed high increases in comparison with the same month of the previous year are recorded as household goods increasing at a rate of 25.41 %, restaurants and hotels with 19.85 %, alcoholic drinks and tobacco group with 19.23 % and food and non-alcoholic beverages group with 18.21 %. Domestic Producer Price Index increased by 21.66 % compared to the same month of the previous year The Domestic Producer Price Index displayed a decrease of 0.99 % in July compared to the previous month, an increase of 7.02 % compared to December last year, an increase of 21.66 % in comparison with the same month of the previous year and an increase of 32.34 % according to the 12-month averages.
