Treasury and Finance Minister Albayrak, “The Medium Term Program Will Be Prepared Focusing on Reducing the Inflation Rate”

Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak stated in a written disclosure that they carry on with the consultancy meetings with all stakeholders in the field of economy as the Ministry of Treasury and Finance to prepare the Medium Term Program.

Albayrak noting that they come together with business people and the representatives of non-governmental organizations in the business world today following the meeting they previously held with academic staff, said that the opinions of participants have been listened to during the meeting on topics such as fighting against inflation, sustainable and healthy growth, budget discipline and setting forth Turkey’s potential regarding the new era.

Albayrak stating that studies are underway to form a medium term program which is well founded and focusing on these targets once more with the participation of all stakeholders, spoke as follows:

“Maximum contribution will be provided to the process of fighting against inflation by means of steps to be taken in the fiscal area. A framework focusing on reducing the inflation rate will be set forth by means of the new medium term plan which will be disclosed. The contribution of the new plan and steps to be taken for fighting against inflation will become apparent at the soonest and measures will be taken with decisiveness. Fighting against inflation will be executed in coordination with steps to be taken within the framework of growth targets, with an integral approach and with policies complementing each other.”

Berat Albayrak noting that measures for savings have been started to be taken regarding public expenditures in the fiscal year of 2018, stated that legislative changes will be put into life in relation with the generalization of single treasury accounting implementation which will provide centralized management of public cash assets and productivity.
