The matters of global economy, trade, investment and financial cooperation will be addressed in the Summit, in which President Erdoğan will participate as the "Term President of the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation".

The Summit, which will be organized for the 10th time this year, will be held with the theme of "BRICS in Africa: Cooperation for an Inclusive Growth and Distribution of Welfare in the Context of Industry 4.0". Even if Turkey is not a member of BRICS, it is invited exclusively to the leaders' summit. President Erdoğan is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with the leaders of Russia, China, India, Brazil and South Africa.

BRICS countries Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, which account for 17 percent of the global trade, had a total foreign trade volume of $5.9 trillion last year. The total trade volume between Turkey and BRICS countries was $60.7 billion last year. While Turkey's estimated export to these 5 countries was worth $7.3 billion, it imported $53.4 billion of goods from these countries last year.
