The eighth of the IRENEC - International 100 Percent Renewable Energy Conferences organized each year by EUROSOLAR Turkey which is the Turkey Section of the European Association for Renewable Energy will take place at Türkan Saylan Cultural Center in Maltepe – Istanbul between the dates of May 7 and 9, 2018. The theme of the Renewable Energy Conference is to provide an international platform to discuss the technical, economic and political aspects of transforming to 100 percent renewable energy and how it can be put into life in industry, architecture, transportation and education. The opening speeches of the Conference will be delivered by the Secretary General of EUROSOLAR Turkey Renewable Energy Association Anıl Türkünoğlu, President of EUROSOLAR Turkey Renewable Energy Association Prof. Dr. Tanay Sıdkı Uyar, Geothermal Power Plant Investors Association (JESDER) President Ufuk Şentürk, Turkish Photovoltaic Industry Association (GENSED) President Prof. Şener Oktik, Board Member of Bioenergy Association (BİYODER) Halil Tolga İlçin, Director of Marmara University, Institute of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Bülent Ekici, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Renewable Energy Director General Dr. Oğuz Can and Mayor of Maltepe Ali Kılıç. Also, a number of lecturers from Turkey and around the world will participate in the Conference. Renewable energy resources will be taken up with all aspects during the conference where the methods of transforming the present energy network entirely to renewable energies in the future will be discussed. Also, topics in diverse fields such as solar power and oil production will be taken up during the conference where new perspectives in solar fuel, photovoltaic transformation and storage, the current status of investments in solar power plants and the development of the rooftop market, biomass investments and their future, social costs of the utilization of conventional energy, geothermal plants in the world and in Turkey and legal arrangements in relation with YEKDEM - RER (Renewable Energy Resources) Support Mechanism will also be discussed.
