EMRA Released Methods and Rules For Unlicensed GES Applications

It will facilitate installation of 10 kW (included) and below capacity roof type solar energy systems. 10 kW below roof type solar energy systems will be connected to network at the calibration point of related consumption facility

Rules and Methods related to Unlicensed Generation Applications for Solar Energy Based Generation Facilities and those connected Consumption Point and the same Calibration Point in the Electricity Market and related to making use of Excess Energy over Requirement, prepared by Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) have been published in the Official Gazette dated January 18, 2018 and taken effect.

Regulation targeted to facilitate installation of 10 kW (included) and below capacity roof type solar energy systems. 10 kW below roof type solar energy systems will be connected to network at the calibration point of related consumption facility. Installed capacity of the generation facility will not be above of power subject to connection agreement of consumption facility, related to application.

Only one application will be made for each consumption location. At the points where to be related to generation facilities, consumption will not be joined. Application will not be made for consumption subscription related to another unlicensed generation facility and for below of 10 kW type facilities.

If the sub-station to be connected to network is of a distribution company, applicants applied for installing below of 10 kW roof type GES will be allotted maximum half of capacity. If the sub-station is of investor, on sub-station capacity connection right will be given provided the installed capacity of the generation facility to be limited to 10 kW.

Unlicensed electricity generation procedures further facilitated in house type solar systems compared to others. In solar energy applications made or consumption facilities up to 3 kW (3 kW included), Power subject to contract in connection agreement, direct connection opinion will be extended and invitation letter will be prepared right away.

Regulation may be seen in full version in the Official Gazette dated January 18, 2018.
