G20 Final Declaration

Declaration covered issues like struggling with terror, global trade, climate and cooperation with Africa. Declaration says "Although growth expectations are encouraging but growth rate is still weaker than expected. Our commitment on international economic and financial cooperation maintained for steppig up the Growth and for protecting against downward risks. International trade and investment are the vital motors of growth, productivity, creating and improving employment. We will struggle with protectivism comprising unfair trade applications. We will particularly encourage a positive environment for trade and investment."

Final Declaration of G20 Leaders Summit held in Hamburg, Germany released. G20 Summit Final Declaration comprised subjects like “struggling with terror, global trade, climate and cooperation with Africa”. In the Declaration, decision underlined on handling basic difficulties of the global community including terrorism, dislodgement, hunger and health threats, creating employment, climate change, energy safety and equality. They noted to continue solving such difficulties by working together with developing countries and other countries as well”.

In the Declaration, it is noted that leaders underlined although growth expectations were encouraging but growth rate was still weaker than expected and they confirmed their commitment on international economic and financial cooperatation maintained for stepping up the Growth and for protecting against downward risks. 

"We will encourage a positive environment for International trade and investment"

In the Declaration, it is noted, "international trade and investment are important motors of growth, productivity, innovation, creation and developing employment". It is also noted, "We will keep open the markets by emphasizing mutually benefical trade and investment frameworks and we continue to fight against protectionalism also covering unfair trade applications and within this context, we will recognize the role of  legal  trade defense instruments. We will particularly encourage a proper environment for trade and investment." 

In the Declaration, the importance of transparency for foreseeable and mutually beneficial trade relations is underlined and said, "For this purpose, we value monitoring activities of World Trade Organization, United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD) and Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) within the context of their monitoring tasks. 

In the Declaration, open and flexible financial system based on agreed international standards are underlined to be of utmost importance for supporting sustainable growth, also concluding G20 financial sector reform agenda agreed upon by the leaders and their determination in applying this wholly and on time in consistency is underlined. 

Paris Climate Change Agreement

In the Declaration, US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Change Agreement is noted and said, "Other G20 leaders are aware of the fact that there is no return from Paris Agreement". In the Declaration, it is also underlined that leaders confirmed their determination on Paris Agreement. 

President Erdoğan, "We consider not to pass Paris Agreement in our Parliament"

Having dwelt upon Paris Climate Agreement in G20 meeting, President Tayyip Erdoğan has noted that if Turkey was not considered a developing country category within the coverage of agreement and was not given share from Green Climate Fund,  Paris Agreement would not pass the Parliament. 

President Erdoğan went on to say,

"I would like here to underline the fact in respect with climate and energy that we had signed in the course of negotiations and then French President Mr. Hollande made us a promise. He promised us that we would be considered not among developed countries but among developing countries as to cover the financial sanctions involved. We answered him, 'If this can be realized, agreement passes the Parliament, otherwise not pass.' Actually, it does not pass the Parliament yet, in other word, after the step taken by America we also take a position not to pass it the Parliament. I would like here particularly underline this."
