Ziraat Bank’s Project Finance Group President Ayçe Şule Gürleyik, “We will be working also in 2017 to realize investments amounting to at least $ 7 billion in the same sector including the North Marmara Motorway and Çanakkale Bridge.”

Ziraat Bank that will continue to have activities within the body of Wealth Fund Management Inc. upon being released from the ownership of the Undersecretariat of Treasury, will be working in 2017 to realize investments amounting to at least $ 7 billion in the transportation and infrastructure sectors including the North Marmara Motorway and Çanakkale Bridge.

Ziraat Bank’s Project Finance Group President Ayçe Şule Gürleyik vocalizing that the past year drew attention with infrastructure and transportation projects, said “We will be working also in 2017 to realize investments amounting to at least $ 7 billion in the same sector including the North Marmara Motorway and Çanakkale Bridge.”

Gürleyik underlining that project loans extend to 3-4 years and even to longer periods, said “Banks generally make a re-planning together with the investors depending on a number of unpredictable factors and take a position accordingly. As of today, Ziraat Bank has stipulations for the releasing of loans amounting to $ 12 billion. Slightly over $ 6 billion of this amount has already been spent for projects depending on their status of progress.”

Gürleyik stated that project loans stand for a financial instrument which is more valued in volatile economic conditions due to their nature of foresights of measures against concerns such as exchange rate risks, providing long term relations between the investor and the creditor and disciplining the investor in borrowing issues.
