Sabancı Holding’s New CEO is Mehmet Göçmen

Head of Sabancı Holding Enerji Group Mehmet Göçmen has been appointed as the new COE of Sabancı Holding

Sabancı Holding has made CEO replacement announcement to Public Opinion Enlightenment Platform (KAP). In the declaration, it is stated that Zafer Kurtul’s resignment as of March 30, 2017 on his own will, has been accepted and Mehmet Göçmen has been assigned to CEO position.

The declaration of Sabancı Holding to KAP reads, “In the February 20, 2017 session of Executive Board of our Company, Zafer Kurtul’s leaving the position of Chief Executive Officer of H.Ö. Sabancı Holding A.Ş. on his own will as of March 30, 2017 has been approved and as to be valid on the same day, Mehmet Göçmen was decided to be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of H.Ö. Sabancı Holding A.Ş."

Mehmet Göçmen, appointed as Sabancı Holding Chief Executive Officer, was graduated from Galatasaray Highschool and then from Industrial Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University in 1981 and attained his after graduation degree from Industrial Engineering section of Syracuse University in 1983.

Mehmet Göçmen has served as high level official in various positions between 1983-1995 in Steel Cable and Wire Industry, between 1996-2003 in Lafarge and appointed as Director General in 2003 to Akçansa, he also has served as Head of Human Resources Group, Head of Cement group, and Head of Energy Group in Sabancı Holding as from August 1, 2008.
