Minister of Economy Zeybekci's Noteworthy Statements

Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, “We invited advanced technology producers in many fields, we have held many discussions. We, Turkey, plan to make 10-15% part of total foreign trade totals to USD 430 billion, on national monetary unit. This is of utmost importance for us."

Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci has come together with some media representatives and answered the questions on the agenda. Zeybekci has noted that world giants were invited to Turkey to make investment for the project based incentives to be extended on the basis of requirements of the investors .

Minister Zeybekçi has noted that talks continue in respect of advance technology, metallurgy chemicals investments, that they engaged in project based support talks allover Turkey for the investments. Reporting call was made to big investors for taking benefit of project based incentives, Zeybekçi said, “We invited advanced technology producers in many fields, we have held many discussions”.

Not giving the name of company for the talks still continue, Zeybekci has pronounced the distress on continuing Russian embargoe on some Turkish products.

National money in foreign trade

Reporting technically everything goes on right track in respect of trade on local monetary units with Russia and Iran, Zeybekci said, "We intend to continue with this trend by enlarging the coverage. We, Turkey, plan to make 10-15% part of total foreign trade totals to USD 430 billion, on national monetary unit. This is of utmost importance for us".

Zeybekci has further noted that discussions continue for increasing the number of products in trade agreement on preferance with Iran from 265 to 400 and said, “agreement reached on about 100 products. Agreement reached with the related Ministers. For the visit of Iran first vice-President İshak Cihangiri cancelled last week, we could not conclude the talks on trade agreement on preferance base. However, we have full understanding in this respect with the related Iranian Minister. We thought the talks will be finalized soon."
