IC Içtaş-Astaldi Partnership's PPP Model St. Petersburg High Speed West Beltway Inaugurated
St. Petersburg High Speed West Beltway, in St. Petersburg, Russia, constructed on 2.2 billion Euros on PPP Model by the Joint Venture started by IC İçtaş and Italian Astaldi, has been inaugurated by Russian Head of State Putin.
St. Petersburg High Speed West Beltway Project at St. Petersburg, Russia, on 2.2 billion Euros cost, constructed by the joint venture formed by IC İçtaş and Italian Astaldi, has been completed. St. Petersburg High Speed West Beltway, of which one of the main contractors is IC İçtaş, Turkish company, shown as the most important public-private partnership projects evert realized in Russia until today, which is of strategic importance for the transportation system of the city, has been inaugurated by Russian Head of State Vladimir Putin. In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, Putin has noted that project was of great importance for both St. Petersburg people and for entire Northwest region of Russia. Putin has thanked the team took place in the project, among them are Turkish workers and engineers. Communicating in this region of Russia, monthly 3 million vehicles cross, Putin has said that after project to start this figure would reach 6-7 million. IC Holding Executive Board Member Fırat Çeçen, "We are proud to see that the project comprising such components to be realized at such a short time under the leadership of a Turkish company with the participation of Turkish engineers and workers" IC Holding Executive Board Member Fırat Çeçen has noted that they have succeeded to complte the project tendered in 2012, comprising different engineering applicaitons like sea structures, bridges and underwater crossings , in about 3,5 years. Çeçen said, " We are proud to see that the project participated comprising such components to be realized at such a short time under the leadership of a Turkish company with the participation of Turkish engineers and workers". Underlining Project is a very important infrustructure project of Russia and for this reason, the tension between Turkey and Russia has not been reflected to them, Çeçen said, "Since we already are aware of deep brotherhood and cooperation ties between the two countries, and this is just a transition process, we have suceeded to pass through this process safely. We are confident of the fact that the former cooperation atmosphere returned will pave ground for us to assume such big projects in the forthcoming period." Project covered a 7.493 m. viaduct, sea canal bridge, two suspension bridges, 400 m. long tunnel, over crossings and provisional technological platforms. Turkish company IC İçtaş has constructed 11.5 km road.
