CPI Increased by 0.78 % in April 2016 on a Montly Basis and by 6.57 % on a Yearly Basis

The increase in CPI realized as 0.78 % in April 2016 compared to the previous month, as 2.55 % compared to December last year, as 6.57 % compared to the same month last year and as 7.84 % according to 12-month averages...

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of April 2016 has been disclosed by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). CPI increased by 0.78 percent in April, according to the report.

The increase in CPI realized as 2.55 % compared to December last year, as 6.57 % compared to the same month last year and as 7.84 % according to 12-month averages.

The highest monthly increase of 12.60 % has been experienced in the wearing apparel and shoes group

The highest monthly increase of 12.60 % has been experienced in the wearing apparel and shoes group. Increases in CPI realized as 0.87 % in education, as 0.76 % in entertainment & culture, as 0.70 % in household furniture and as 0.62 % in transportation in April 2016 among main expenditure groups.

A decrease of 1.48 % was experienced only in the food & non-alcoholic beverages group in April 2016 among main expenditure groups.

The highest yearly increase of 12.84 % has been experienced in the alcoholic drinks & tobacco group

The highest yearly increase of 12.84 % realized in the alcoholic drinks & tobacco group. Restaurants & hotels (11.35 %), miscellaneous commodities and services (11.25 %), household goods (10.38 %) and health (9.58 %) have been the other main expenditure groups which displayed the highest rates of increase in CPI compared to the same month last year.
